Technical translation
When performing a technical translation it is important to be accurate in the translation of specialized terms and phrases, which presupposes the presence of good subject knowledge in the relevant domains of science or technology. When creating a work of art the writer strives to write in a way that no one else has done before and to form his own style. Meanwhile, in the case of scientific and technical literature, the author resorts to a formal-logical style, the main features of which are high information content, evidence, standardized presentation with the wide use of stereotyped words and phrases, unemotional presentation, and, as a result, the author’s personality is not emphasized.
The term technical translation is also used to refer to the translation of texts from domains other than technology and science. For example, in France, it may refer to all domains where specialized terminology is used from medicine to art.
